Hullo to new subscribers

Wonderful to see your quick response. I hope you will be active participants: the more we share what we know, the more we all will know.
There are heaps of conferences on Digital Libraries throughout the world all the time, sometimes focussed on quite different disciplinary groups, and some that are multidisciplinary.  Here are some upcoming conferences that you could still submit papers for:

In Ottawa, Canada:

The ACM/IEEE Joint Conference on Digital Libraries is a major international forum focusing on digital libraries and associated technical, practical, organizational and social issues.  JCDL encompassess the many meanings of the term ‘digital libraries’, including (but not limited to) new forms of information institutions and oragnizations; operational information systems with all manner of digital content; new means of selecting, collecting, organizing, distributing and accessing digital content, theoretical modesl of information media, including document genres and electronic publishing; and thoery and practice of use of managed content in science and education.

The theme for JCDL 2011 is ‘Digital libraries: bringing together scholars, scholarship and research data’.

Due date has been extended to 10th February, for short papers, so there’s still just time.

In September,  a European conference in Berlin: International conference on theory and practice of Digital Libraries.   http://www.tpdl2011.org/

The European Conference on Research and Advanced Technology for Digital Libraries (ECDL) has been the leading European scientific forum on digital libraries for 14 years. For the 15th year the conference was renamed.  It is now the

ADVANCED LANGUAGE TECHNOLOGIES FOR DIGITAL LIBRARIES
(ALT4DL)   http://disi.unitn.it/~alt4dl/

We invite authors to submit papers for a volume on Advanced Language
Technologies for Digital Libraries to be published in the Springer’s Lecture
Notes on Computer Science (LNCS) Hot Topic subline [1].

The volume aims at presenting how state-of-the art Language Technologies are
applied to the challenges faced by Digital Libraries together with providing
a introductory grounding to the underlying fields. Hence, it will promote
this emerging research area and disseminate its results whilst motivating
the non-expert reader. It originates from two workshops, NLP4DL and AT4DL
held in Viareggio and Trento, respectively, in 2009, but it is open also to
contributions that were not presented at that time. We aim at gathering
contributions both from the Library and the Computer Science community.
